This past weekend I had the privledge to crew on a 2002 36 Daytona. This boat was set up with Eickert 675's with Imco drives. We averaged 92+mph and max speed was 117mph on the GPS. All I have to say is that there were some serious players at the Poker Runs America season opener in Sarasota and I did not expect us to run as well as we did. We did not get passed by anyone the first 2 legs and were the 3rd boat at John's Pass and the 1st boat docked at Gators. In addition, we left 3-5 minutes behind the lead group, Donzi-Drambuie, and passed over 50 boats on the 1st 2 legs before lunch. On the run back the only boat that had the pleasure of driving around us was the Sorcerrer. Thanks again to Mike Flanigan at Lightning Bay Performance Marine who piloted the Daytona exceptionally well and never lifted! :-)
So- I am selling my Sunsation and going to buy a cat. What did Lube Jobs cat say on the back??? "If it's not a cat it must be a dog" Bow wow. I'm in.

what are you running under the hatch to go 137? These are excellent boats. Only wish I could swing a 36. Have a friend with one that has arnerson/turbines and the ride is mind boggling. I get a consistant 103 with three of us in the boat, half tanks and a full cooler. The wife can dock it to boot. Hard to argue with a mild mannered triple digit boat.

Reconsider the “145” MPH record.
I have a 19’ Daytona “Breathless” that I ran 151 MPH three times in 1991.
It’s For Sale…(minus motor)

rockit man, Nice looking boat.
The guy that won LOTO this year with the Daytona is a friend of mine. We were wrenching on that thing for 4 days that week to work out the bugs. The engine builder Gary Kincaid was there also from Havasu. As it turns out, he was under proped and hitting the rev limiter, but we didn't have a bigger prop anyway. He brought back my GPS with 124 on the display. He goes to Havasu in the spring, so maybe you will see him there. Here is a picture of his boat. He has about the same setup as you, 26, 598ci with pontiac heads, 14-71, standoff box. As far as topend, who knows, but at LOTO we were still dialing it in. The boat is very stable for a 26 ft boat, but it is a little slower hull than the 25 daytona.
So, are you going to crank up the boost to about 20 to get it to 145mph. Man that is fast.
OH wecome to the board!
