Mild,
That is not good news, but I had the same deal going on when I bought my hawk last year, 35mph and the starbord engine seemed to give out, (cracked head) , Im sure yours isnt that bad, but I Like all the talk and info your post have gotten started with the 40 and 38 Hawks, Im not sure if mine is a 38 or 40, and Kevlar or not, But the stringers are Solid as hell in the engine compartment if you have NAT on your ID#, means excalibur marine boat, which equals a strong solid hull and stringers. I have the stress cracks you all are talking about as well. They dont bother me as long as my boat doesnt break in half, hehe. I am just getting my new long blocks back this week, and cant wait till I am running again, I know you only got to 35 your first trip,, but Was there any better feeling in the world when that baby laid down and got on a plane. Best five mins of my life before my engine gave out, haha Im addicted,, In the off season I am going to do cosmetics. Thanks Excalibur Owners

Matt,
So true, The guy I bought mine from had the exact quote. Hope your boat stays as problem free and beautiful as possible, your boat is an example that makes me proud to own an Excalibur.
thanks

You know, everyone told me it was a waste of time to put power into the boat and that it wouldnt matter how much we did, the boat would respond. If you get a little weight out of these things and throw some power at them they are actually fun. I took a two guys for rides that both have 40 Hawks with 454/400's and they couldnt believe it. They would romp the throttles at 3500rpms and get big grins. They were the ones that said bigger power was worthless!

For the guys that just got new boats, you will love it!

I was curious if any one knew exactly how to tell which of the larger excalibur hulls are Kevlar? I have a K as the last letter on my Hull ID #, is this the designation. any info would be appreciated.
Mild, did you work out your engine issue?
