For any of you that keep up... the boat is running good with very few issues. I am doing some maintenance this week then I plan to cruise through the summer. The bow is still gutted so the front rides really light and flighty, like a baja. Sorry. The boat has run 74.4 mph @ 4900 RPM's. I havent run it hard yet. I have about 1000rpms left that I havent turned due to wrong props. The boat has really nice acceleration. At 3500-3800rpms, depending on conditions the boat is running 50-54 mph. Exactly what i was looking for. We are very happy with it. For an old heavy boat it will really get moving.
Here are some pictures of mine and a friends.

Hey man that looks incredible. I love that yellow interior. I was looking through your photo gallery at your re-rig pics. I am in Dallas too. Who did your glasswork/paint? Did you get the interior done locally? Looks like Dereberry did the rigging? I'm re-doing a Magnum 27 sport over the winter. I hope it turns out as good as yours.

Cedar Mills did all the glass and paint work. They did and awesome job. The interior was done by a guy in Justin, TX by the name of Frank Collins. Derebery Built the engines and I rigged the boat at Derebery with some much needed guidance. Thanks for the kind words, you guys were fast.

EH40,
Are you going to make it up to LOTO this year for the shootout? Would love to check out the rig up close. I have seen one other original hawk on the lake but haven't been able to flag him down to chat.

tc- the other 40 is a friend of the 27. The gentleman that owns the 27 has a 40 in Sarasota. Any luck with selling the baja?
Zanie- how is yours comming?
