I'd switch to a Bravo and go 17.5. Your boat will love that set up.

I wanna keep the trs with the big tranny it's nearly unbreakable and eventually go with a Konrad! But for now what's the killer x for the trs setup

I would convert it to a bravo. Did it to mine and ran awesome. I set the drive at 19inches with a 540 and a bravo it ran 85/87 all the time and never broke a drive. Motor made 640 ish hp. When I did The transom The old wood had 19.5 inches written on the back. That was what the set it at the factory.

i know the bravo is faster and if I'm careful it won't break but i like the peace of mind of the tranny but my dad keeps telling me the same thing about the bravo setup! who knows still have a lot to do before we get down to absolutely needing to make the decision! thanks guys for all the responses
