Funny YOU should ask, I was just reading some posts of yours, while researching what to do with my "X" dimension. I want to move it up, but how much? That's a loaded question, huh?

I never measured before disassembly but if I measured correctly:
Prop centerline is:
2.75 inches below the pad.
7.25 inches below the v portion directly in line with the prop centerline.
9 inches below the flat portion of the notch.

The bravo is 2.5 inches shorter than the TRS.
I was thinking of dropping the engine 1/2 inch. This would raise the props 2 inches.
If this gives me problems I can always buy spacers.

MAX HP this old boat will see is in the 600 range.
What do you think?

We went with 18" X and 34" centers. With the Imco drives it puts the prop shaft 4 inches under the boat. We have a notch like yours. When running a straight piece of steel back the shaft is 4 inches below that, we went with a little higher X since we are running 12" boxes. I am not sure how much below the notch we are.

The first 2 pictures here have the transom drawn up before it was cut and some other pictures of the transom.

ExH40,
Thanks for the info and the pics!
Your boat is going to be SO COOL!
Did you measure before you disassembled?
My 7.25 measurement was taken where your 4 inch was taken.
So if I'm at 5.25 with the bravos that should work OK, ya think?
Or at least a little better than it was.
Did your engines move up or down?
Did you use standard Bravo transom assemblies?
Dan

5.25" should be fine. Our motors did move up. We really didnt measure much before since we were going to set everything up using some measurements from new fountains, cigarettes, etc. Most are using 34" centers so we knew our headers would have just enough room to clear and keep the motors as close as possible. The other 1" higher that we have on you is due to the extension box which has 1" of lift built in. We used a standard brave inner transom plate, the rest is stellings. Good luck, and keep pictures and updates in here. Ill have some new pictures next week since we got out driveshafts in today.

There was a little bit of a delay for the glass guy to get started on my boat. That's OK, I told him to take his time. I have many other roadblocks and if it's sitting in the yard at his shop, it's not sitting in my driveway.

I stopped by yesterday and it finally made it into the shop.
Here's how it looked.

Hey EH40,
What's going on?
You don't have any new photos at your webshot site. Any new progress?
If my forward progression on my 31 Excalibur was any slower, I'd be moving backward!
I paid a guy to do my transom repair and he totally frkd it up.
I'm tearing his work out and doing it myself .
Since everything is moving so slow, I keep changing the plan!
Now I'm thinking I have room inside of my trailer's driveguard for extension boxes with the bravos!
I just kinda figure, if I'm doing the (TRS to bravo) changeover, I might as well pull out the stops on the stuff that is hard to change later on!
I'm just a bit leary, because my pad bottom is so flat.
I have a line on a pair of IMCO Neutral boxes for a pretty good deal.
Your boxes are stelling right?
Do you have just longer input shafts to the coupler or something more complicated?
Thanks,
DS
