Question 27 Speedster question

I have a '85 27 Speedster. It is very sensitive to side winds or even strong breezes as I'm heading across the lake. I am constantly adjusting my tabs to keep the boat level. Is it because the beam is so narrow? Does anybody else have this problem?

I have a 27' Speedster i am working on now. It never stays level. I just quit adjusting the tabs and leave them flat. I just ride the lean out. It also leans over when you get on the throttle hard. The beam makes them very sensitive.

my 24 is awfull. The thing lists if I eat a smaller lunch than my passenger. I don't mind it but in big water it makes for hard landings that are very tough on the hull. I've found with this boat that quartering waves is impossible(unless you want to bang every wave with the side of the hull), I just adjust my course to hit them square or roll across them. Is this how your boat acts also?

That sounds like mine. I have to adjust where the cooler sits according to who is riding with me. Quartering is'nt too bad, if I'm not going very far(2-3ft. chop). I'm not in big water. Most of the time it's head on or rolling with.

Your lucky, out on lake Erie you'll get into this washing machine chop 4-5' and it kicks the poor boat side to side so hard that its not uncommon for my rubrails to be underwater when running hard.
