The truth is, (most) of the new urethanes on the market today are pretty good products! When problems occur, 95% of the time it is the way it was applied (and or) a lack knowledge, experience, or pride in the person using the products!!!!! I hate hearing these stories, but it is what makes the difference between a quality shop and the others, and (normally) the price you pay for it!! Research the shop thoroughly, and talk to as many people & customers as possible before turning over your major investment to them!! Cheap is not always a good thing and cleaning up a mess like this is a major PITA that will probably double the original cost of the job (if not more). I know hinde-site is not what you need right now, but your telling others might prevent this from happening to someone else!! In the recent years, the custom boat painting industry has suddenly been flooded with a ton of new shops trying to( ride the wave) of a new (to them) market. Some are good, some are not!! The problem is, the consumer (and the industry as a whole) suffers until they are weeded out. Until then I recommend using only an established (boat) painting company with a history of satisfied customers!! (P.S.) Just as there are differences in building a (marine) motor to last, there are differences in painting a (boat) to last!!!! Once again, I am sorry to hear of this happening to you and I wish you the best of luck in resolving this problem!!
