Default Bottom Paint

Bought boat wh/ was coated with Anti-foul on bottom, as in water full time during boat season. Will have in dry storage, so am looking at options. I like the black on bottom of boat, but do not like rough texture, or fact that it tends to slow boat. Any thoughts / recommendations appreciated.

If you want to keep the bottom paint on, but want to streamline it, it can be sanded smooth and if you don't cut through, leave like that and wax.
If you cut through, repaint with Interlux High Performance bottom paint (it can be sprayed slick) and may pick up a MPH!
Sand off all the paint an recoat with Awl Grip to match gel or black.

The literature doesn't reccomend it, but if it isn't going to soak for extended periods, I personally haven't had problems. Prep is key and my bottoms have passed the 100+ MPH test. I'm sure others will say the same thing, eh?

Once you sand a full bottom full of old bottom paint you will never want to do it again. Just throw away your clothes and maybe you won't be tasting it all week.
