Default Looking for glass guy in Jax FL.

I have a 21' scout. I need to get my transom redone. Looking for someone local or within reasonable traveling distance. I love pushing the boat but every time i do my ext box gets loose. It seems i have some soft spots. The boat sat for a while before i got my hands on it. Im looking for someone whos willing to work with me their and let me do the grunt work. I love to learn and im not a headache.

Well, wy dont you get started by pulling engine and take everything of the transom in and out.

Then you cut only the inside laminate of the transom ,take a shissel or what ever works and strip the transom to the inside layer of the outside.
Give it a good grinding with 60 grid sandpaper.
Once you got that done your half way there.

Buy some marinegrade plywood 2 pc of 3/4 " and cut them to the shape of the transom but leave like 1/8" of the sides for filler.
Drill like 7/16 holes every 10 " into the plywold after they are laminated together with a 1808 matt and epoxy.
Then you fit them to your inside transom and screw them inplace with regular drywall screwa after ofcorse aplying epoxy puddy to both sides ,the inside of the transom and the plywood,,,yes dont worry about the stuff coming thru the holes yet,,,,, also to keep the transom from warping you screw 2 or 3 2X4's on the outside of the transom.
make shure you dont forget to thighten the drywallscrews down real good so all the exsess puddy comes out of the holes.
Now you get rid of all the exsess and make the outside where you left the space to a rounded shape with the putty.
Let it sit over night.

Next day ,,,,take of all the screws ,,in and out ,fill all the screw holes with some more puddy,,,,,then start grinding the would and about 10 " into the sides and on the stringers and bottom where they meet the transom.

After that you start laminating the layers of glass about 3- 4 over the inside transom.
Then cutout and drill all the holes you need from outside ,,since still there because old outside gelcoat and class.
then seal with resin and grind inside too finish with gelcoat ,paint it and start putting everything back in the boat .

DONE !!!!!!!!
