I'm replacing my bow light on the front of my Formula. Decided to go with a lower profile LED light. Hence the reason I'm replacing it, the old light broke.

Only problem is that the new light covers all but one of the pre-existing holes that is about 3/16" to 1/4" wide. It's completely through the decking so I'm going to have to insert a plug first. Not sure what I should use next? Can I use a gelcoat paste to fill the rest then sand smooth? Do I use a filler then a gelcoat to match? Any suggestions will be helpful.

For something that small, I would just use some 2 min expoxy on a small dowel and then gel coat to match. Press the epoxy coated dowel in from the bottom if you can.

I have yet to see if I have access from underneath, I hope so. I contacted my local Formula dealer as well as Formula's customer service about seeing what I can do about the best way to match the gelcoat. I don't need much.

I bet you can have it done by a pro for cheap money. Also if you look around Glass Dave did a step by step on this type of repair.
