Since this stuff etches (cleans) metal like the one guy showed on his trailer, if you leave this stuff in contact with metal (like the metal parts in a sprayer, and it is probably more reactive with some metals over others) it will eventually eat them to nothing. In industry, there is a similar process called ElctroChemical Machining, where you "disolve" away controlled amounts of metal in specific areas to get the final shape/size part that you want.

What's the active ingredient then? I would like to see that spot on the trailer in a couple of months. I spray a lot of pesticides and chemicals in my line of work and have yet to have a garden type sprayer destroyed from any of them like ky is mentioning.

My thought is if it is eating away spray bottles what is it doing to your skin?

What do you think it would do to an aluminum trailer? I'd like to get mine shining again.

I would use what the farmers/truckers use on their tanks. Talk to Ben because he really did up his drives and some other stuff. We get into winter and I am bored I'll come over one day and give you a hand and we can knock back some beers and make her shine in a hurry.

Your skin..... I admit the stuff works awesome but I end up with chemical burns on my hands from it (girl friend works at a dermatologist and he confirmed). I absolutely will continue to use the product will just use gloves.

My sprayer was rubber parts. It seems to have just eaten through the gaskets that make the sprayer air tight.

i thought it was kinda hard on the sprayer as well, i figured i just had a cheap-o sprayer. Had a friend get a good one from this place he works at an it seemed to last longer.

Yikes!! Sounds like you might as well get a couple cans of "Easy Off" oven cleaner. I have actually used oven off to remove paint before and it will certainly clean up a stain. But, at the end of the day it is still Sodium Hydroxide.

Yeh it never really hurt to be honest and I thought it was more of an allergic reaction because my hand swelled pretty good, but then almost all the skin peeled off my fingers and it became really tender. But as I mentioned it is absolutely amazing what it will clean up. I used to use mold and midlew remover and it worked ok but this stuff is amazing. I accidentally got some on my trailer and it is blinding in that one spot of the aluminum now.
