Filling holes in stringers

Filling holes in stringers
So i had to move my offshore engine mounts to get everything lined up now that the extension boxes were removed from my boat, what is the best way to fill the old holes for strength ? My plan as of right now is to cut some dowels cover them in resin and drive them in the old holes then use cabosil (sp?) over them

i like to use West's 404 with whatever resin and dowel them. I'm not sure the dowel is really that necessary on holes under a half inch. I have just cleaned them out and filled with 404 and then put a small piece of 1708 over it to cap it off. It depends on what you want the finished surface to look like. Down in the bilge you can get away with a little surface layup for the sake of durability.

if the new holes are right above the old ones dowel them but still use 404 with the resin.
