Default Painting my boat quick question

Hey guy I have a 29ft scarab old one 1988 its about ready for paint. My question is I want to paint this thing so that it looks as long as possibly. would that be a solid white or does long stripes down the side make it look longer? I know dumb question but we all want it to look as long as possibly . Thanks guys

Just do some Creative Manscaping at the Back of the Boat, the sooner you stop the graphics toward the rear of the boat, the longer the front will look! I speak as a Caucasian Authority on the Subject! ;-)

oh yea you can definitely lengthen the look of a boat with the right graphics (or a beak lol). Long graphics that work with the natural lines of the boat can do wonders. Post up a side shot of your boat.

Full length horizontal lines that progress from wide at the back to thin at the front will add length to the boat. I have a little experience wth this.

down the sides, long stripes that start thin and get wider but also curve helps.

Basically you start out as a boot stripe then swoop up over the back, over the rub rail.

Look at Donzi for more info, they do it in various ways... sometimes starting with a boot stripe and ending with a graphic, sometimes like mine where it's just a big swoop thing. The idea is to take the eye off the the rub rail and send it to a much longer graphic.

Ok I will try and get some pics of the side of the boat. So dont do a solid color like white that wont make it look longer. What about a big mural down the side like a huge skull with flames and stuff or something???

solid color of white is fine its the stripes that lengthen or shorten a boat. Murals and flames belong on 70's vans

I will see if i can find a couple examples of long and short renderings on the same hull. I know i have some somewhere on this computer

I actually considered turning my Gel Coat Guy loose and doing a "one off" custom job using his best judgement, creativity, and talent in the color of my own choosing. I guess I am just too much of a control freak and can't bring myself to say the words to him. They just started prepping it today, it'll be in the sling tomorrow and by Friday/Saturday I had better have my mind made up about the design otherwise I'm just going to tell him to do his thing as long as it doesn't look like my boat has a Tribal Tattoo!??!
