Default Just got a quote to paint boat, SHOCKED!

I just had a quote to paint my 25' baja outlaw all white on the sides, $3000, does that seem high, or in the ballpark? More than I was expecting.

I doubt that's all that bad...a lot of material involved!

Sounds cheap to me too.

I had my 22 Donzi painted 7 or 8 years ago, black hull sides, black stripe down the deck, new rub rail and decals for $3500, and I thought that was a good deal at the time. Added 5 grand to the value as the season before I couldn't give it away for 15 grand with faded paint, but it sold the first weekend for 20K after the paint job.

Last name Scheib?

Couldn't help myself.

That Earl had to die.

Ok, now I'll stop.

I have 3500 in material alone on my 24-7 project.

I'd bet that price is based on an "economy" product line.

You can't get a decent paint job done on a car for $3000 around here. There's a lot of material and labor involved. It cost me $5500 to get the bottom gel coated on a formula this winter.
