Floor repair
On my cruiser the floor is getting soft. There were some cracks that water got into and started rotting the inside. How would I go about fixing it? The underneath bottom is solid. I can't really get to it with it only being 2" above the gas tanks. Do I just cutoff the top cap/laminate? Just looking for a somewhat quick fix. I bought it a few years ago and it was like this, it was a repo boat. I've just had tape over it so it wouldn't get worse faster.

Thanks!
That is what I thought had to be done. I just couldn't find it on YouTube. I kept putting floor in and they were always pulling the whole floor out. I needed to look for 'core' replacement.

If you want to use epoxy, get it from US Composites. Its a lot cheaper. Or just use vinylester. They sell it too. The West System is nice, but its way overpriced.
There are tons of YT videos on replacing the deck coring, buy cutting out and reusing the top skin. I guess it all depends on what you are trying to end up with.

I've read a lot of good reviews on Total Boat 5:1 epoxy. A lot less expensive and free shipping. And they have great videos for all of their products.
I use West Systems for small projects. I always have some laying around.

Jason,
Check out vinyl ester resin, I'd use it any day over epoxy now that I've experience how well it works. There is a good reason why Glass Dave swears by this stuff. You can mix up a batch and you have a LONG pot life. I bought all the glass and resins for my Scarab project from Merritt Supply in FL. The prices are inline or less than US Composites, but both are good companies to deal with. The cockpit floor is the next project on my list, but the whole floor is coming out to replace the stringers.
Good luck with the project!

I have a couple gallons of vinyl ester that I'm going to use. I was just referring to the epoxy that they were using in the vid. And if I was going to use a large quantity of epoxy the Total Boat from Jamestown is what I would try.
