What an undertaking that would be! I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination but you’re doing a killer job. I’ve done some research on this before. As I might buy a boat with some rot issues.... If I were to do this job I would use coosa board. I didn’t see that mentioned anywhere. But I have seen it on mentioned on OSO before. Looks to be a good alternative to wood and will
never rot out again from what I hear. Did you consider that product? Pros cons ?

What would be the life expectancy of the mahogany? Vs going with a composite material? I guess if it’s glasses right it will last 50 years?

It was suggested, but I never considered using it. It was somewhat addressed in post #13. If done properly, sealed and taken care of wood will last decades. I own a 1986 Scarab Panther and 2000 Active thunder. If asked, no one would have thought the 16 year old AT (I purchased 2016) needed new transom and stringers before 36 year old Wellcraft Scarab. It's all about taking care of the boat and making sure it is sealed.

Some PPG 2 part. I'll look for it tomorrow if I remember. Worked very good.
