Smartcraft screen, yes. 5-blade Maximas,32's lab finished by Merc racing to 31's. Casting # says 32,but imprinted over with 31.

That thing just flat-out honks!!!!

That's right out of the box too. Might gain one or two as it gets used to itself. I would have thought 90mph to be optimal. Amazing!!!!

:)

My thoughts exactly. I wasn't going to throw any stabs out about that but,,,,,,,,,,,, since it's been brought up................

I don't want ot say it looks like a hack job but, it kinda looks like a hack job. I wouldn't be real happy if I spent that kind of money and opened my hatch and saw that. I don't see any provision for drainage. I would think Formula could have closed-off the open channel-looking affair.

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

Guess I should post a photo of the inside of the rear storage tray. It looks very nice with a Starboard enclosure and 2 stainless steel vents. They had to make room for the air intakes and they did a good job. I'll try to get a photo. Also hope to burn off a little fuel this weekend :p

See how hard of a turn you can do at full throttle!!!!!! :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

I still don't understand cutting that whole area out for cleaners. Seems like some stuctural intergrety would have gotten cut out too? They need to redesign that area for bigger motor installations.

WOW! I'm betting with a light load of fuel and 2-3 foot chop, you'll be looking at 97 or 98 m.p.h.!

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

Hey Robert -Ricky told me about this thread and I had to come see it for myself. 95mph is increadible!!! Guess I'll have to watch out for Hubie now. I'll be drooling until its time to trade. btw - we just got ours back in the lift for the first time since Ivan this last weekend. Actually the first time the boats been run since the storm. She ran like a top and was obviously happy to be on the water again.

Take care and tell Dano hello.
Reed

Magicfloat 05-09-2005 06:10 PM

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

Word is the only reason Hubie traded was because you were faster. You won't be faster now unless you buy my 600 boat, then it will be equal :D :D

restabr 05-10-2005 08:46 AM

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

I think he's just gonna have to be faster for a while. Besides we've only got 80 hours on ours - clearly we need to break it in a little more before we trade it. What graphics did he get??

captaindave 05-10-2005 01:22 PM

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

Reed, Hubie got the Flash graphics.
Robert, I do not thank that Reeds boat would leave the boat that Hubie traded, they were running the same props. (I may be wrong but I think 500's w/boxes and 525's w/ITS is a dead heat.
Think so?????

I hear thru the grapvine that the 600 sci's is a $100,000.00 upgrade from the stock motors,   :(

restabr 05-10-2005 02:28 PM

Re: Splashing the 353/600's

Right specs on both boats. We never ran head to head WOT, but my impression was that we were pretty much a dead heat. We ran together all day during the poker run in Orange Beach last year and it seemed close enought that only a full on drag race would have settled it. With his new boat I guarantee that we won't be racing - more like me chasing him. :)

That's just crazy, $100k. I still just don't get it why Merc charges so much for the blue stuff.

That is crazy i can see maybe a $30,00.00 upgrade but that is ridiculous, Thats like a $379,000.00 dollar boat, list price
