Does anyone have an extended swim platform on a 400ss? Or has anyone seen one with it on?
Since I full of questions, I imagine that I can purchase one from Formula and attach it to my 400ss. Any likes or dislikes about extended swim platforms?
Magicfloat can I purchase one from you?

Only the 05's can have the extended platform added. Many changes were made to enable the addition. Older models do not have the proper reinforcement, etc. for the platform. As far as likes or dislikes,I personally do not like the extended platform. Not only is it not needed,IMHO,it is also ugly, and a bolt-on,and you all know my opinion of bolt-ons
. Enjoy your 400SS with the real platform, extra appendenges are not needed.

Sorry to be late to the thread- but I have been out since memorial day running around smith point in the chesapeake with my 05 400SS with extended swim platfoorm.
Heres the results on my impromtu survey:
Spouse thinks its stupid cause of the caulk like seal between the standard and the extended making it look like an addon
Visitors think its a great dive platform when anchored for swimming
I think I like it as a wave breaker in the bay and a good dock for dinghys and allows 2 folks to be out on the platform area when fueliing or preparing to depart or dock.
What year is your 400SS?

The 06's are different,it is standard, and is more like an overlay, looks pretty cool and not so much a bolt on. Should be pics on the Formula website. Not sure what it would take for an existing boat, but might work.

My dad's 400SS has the entended platform. Like is said above it is not really necessary. But, I love it. You could throw a huge party on the platform alone. He has his on a 20,000 lbs lift and backs it in. You can partially lower the boat and literally roll a cooler from the dock onto the swim platform. On such a bog boat I don't think it looks out of place either. Next time I am on it I will take some pics.

A good friend of mine just purchased a '02 40 SS and wants to install the extended platform on, I actually printed this thread out last week and gave it to him (he is not on OSO).... I have a 33 Concept and know who is who on the owners forum in the Concept section, respectfully I read Magicfloat are you a Formula dealer?? My friend (Kent) would like to purchase a platform and I'm going to OSO to help him. Art Lilly and Kent have gone over the job and are doing a template and are convinved they can mold one on?? Any suggestions or pricing would help if you can??
Thanks, Patrick Dolan
