Thanks again to Formula

Just wanted to pass this on....
I don't have a Formula dealer close to me, however the Factory is only 20 minutes away. (Robert, if I had the time I'd bring it down to you :drink: ) I had a couple of minor issues that needed attention and was covered by the warranty. Daryl from Formula asked me to bring the boat to the factory and he would take care of them. They don't normally make a practice of doing this, but I took him up on it and was very appreciative of him saving me the trip my closest Formula dealer. (3 hours away) While the boat was there he even replaced some cosmetic items he felt didn't meet the Formula standards. I dropped the boat off Monday morning and will be picking it up today. Thanks Daryl (And Formula) for the great service.

I have had some dealings with Chuck in ??? (customer service?) on my 98 312. I told him he was making it real hard for me to ever consider buying another brand of boat! They raise customer service to a new level.

Same experience with Chuck and my 1989, nice being treated like it were new.

I bought (used) a 1986 357 SR1 and had questions about it. I emailed Formula and not only received replies about my specific questions but they still had records from when it was built and were able to copy and send schematics for electrical, etc. That's above and beyond in my book.

I've had same experiences with my 87 SR357. I've gotten all the schematics, detailed explanations of how things were dones, sources for things like fuel tanks, bolsters, etc etc etc.

Seems strange to be treated so well in todays marketplace but it sure is nice.

I used to work as a Marine tech in California and I gotta say, Formula was probably the easiest builder to deal with. They were always promp and had knowegable people on the other end of the phone. The Formula Guard warranty is also one of the only extended warranty plans I know of that actually covers things and doesn't try and weasel out of everything. If I ever decide to buy a new boat, I will defenitly take a long hard look at Formula.

I had the same treatment from formula. When i inquired about my boat they seemed happy to hear that she was still going strong. I talked to Wayne Porter at the chicago boat show and he stood there and talked about my '88 357 for almost a half hour. They really are concerned and want you to be happy.

I recently emailed them about the upholstery on my 1991 242SS. They were very helpful in identifying a suitable replacement color.

Kind of amazing when you think about it.

If we could just get them to do something with the weather so we could start putting some hours on them:D

Re: Thanks again to Formula

Some of you may remember........ two years ago I had some issues and needed technical help. Discussed my problems with Steve from Formula. He was great. Settled my problems and all the while treated me just like I'd bought a new boat (mine is an '89).

I wrote an email back to Formula, addressed to Customer Relations Department thanking Steve for his support and professionalism. Formula asked me if they could publish it in their news letter. I said sure and they did with a pic of my boat.

I can't imagine too many other companies offering support like Formula does. One key element of Formula's terrific support is that the company is still family owned. That is in my opinion the single biggest factor.

I can't swing a brand new boat right now, but if I could, it would be a Formula............................ PERIOD!

Hmmmmmmm, that would be my fourth Formula. What would I call it.................... Four-mula???????????????
Naw, "ThirdBird" is about as far as I should go with that moniker methodology.

If the Active Thunder factory was 20 minutes from my house, Pat (owner) would have shot me by now. That's pretty cool they took care of you directly like that.

Chuck Miller - East Coast service rep. Young guy , and very new to the company, but he understands their philosophy. I met him at a Formula Owner's Rendezvous last summer - great guy, but none of the owners would give him any rest. Until we filled him up with wine..... :drink:

Forwarded this to Chuck....apparently he's a lurker here, he said he already saw it.
Thanks Chuck!!!!

Chuck Miller is top notch and represents the formula family well, Has helped me out on a couple of issues and is very prompt with his responses, They take customer service to where it should be and stand behind there product, Formula is in a class by itself when it comes to build and service from the factory and its dealers!!!!

Wow it must be different if you actually own a Formula.
I had called Chuck, Darryl and Steve (each more than once) at Formula to answer a few questions about a 353 I was looking at that had a paint problem on the deck. Recieved one voicemail back which I promptly returned only to get sent back to voicemail on my return call.

I had multiple conversations with Formula tech support before buying my 336, and everyone I talked to was great. Karen ? sent me all the brochures she could find that had the 336 in it, and Darryl/Steve sent me wiring diagrams and patiently answered lots of rookie questions. I'm very pleased to have that kind of support available.

Well,BigDaddy96 is no longer a Tirekicker or Stalker :D :D . Subject of course to survey :p And sometimes in the busy part of the season a return call will get lost in the system, not typical, and the Formula factory guys are generally always available and I try to always be available also. Welcome this new 353 owner to our crazy crew of Fomula guys :drink:
