connecting the 242 to shore power

My 89 242 has a battery charger and shore power. I've seen the plug in the left side pocket...I remember that it was a big round plug but don't recall if it was male or female or if it was 3 or 4 prongs. Is the system 120V? What type of power cable do I need to connect to shore power? I can't get to the boat until Saturday morning to look and of course I'd like to head to the Formula Rendezous first thing in the morning.

Will this one from Boater's world do the trick? Thanks

Yup, that's the one you need, standard 30 amp shorepower cord.

Sorry I'm not going to the Formula rally, I got about 5 extra cords like that in my dockbox, I'd be happy to give you one.

That's the right one.....Make sure to get the 50 ft'er. The 25 maybe tempting, but you'll regret it eventually!

That should do it. It's a three prong , push in and twist to lock. I also carry an adapter to standard three prong push in (no twist to lock). That way I can plug it in at home in a standard outlet too

Yes, I've been keeping my eye on the classifieds. After last weekend's trip I'm thinking 28SS or 330SS...

I have a 1988 242 and have rebuilt the motor in it. I have a wire that I cannot figure out where it goes and wonder if you could look at yours and tell me where it goes. At my main wiring harness at the front of the motor there is one wire that come out by itself. It is tan with a blue stripe and I think it goes to one of the two water temp sending units on the thermostat housing. If you would look and see if you have a similar wire it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
