I think a 312 with HO's would be a nice reliable ride that won't break the bank to purchase.

A 292 300hp 350s is heavy on the a$$ end and you have to be careful not to flood the boat when coming off of plane. I have never ridden in a 312 but the added wieght may make it similar to the 292 350 twin. Other than the water on the rear-end the 292 350 twin was a nice package, just have to pay attention to what you are doing.
