Default Interior Lighting Idea's Needed

My SR357 has the factory 12V flourescent lighting behind the valences. Three of the six have taken a dump and they are expensive as hell.

I tested some fo the undercabinet halogens but it seems like they get too hto to be safe eventhough I like the "ambience" as the interior desecraters call it. Have played with the LED lghts but thye give off a crappy colored light in white.

Any other ways to get the mood back in that lighting? Has anybody just totally removed that valence on tried something else?

Try Switching To 12 Volt Led Lights..... The Technoolgy In The Led Field Is Starting To Over Take Old Lighting Technology .. The Led Are Brighter And A Much Cooler Even After Being On For Hours At A Time...

Where can you get LED's at a reasonable price? I've saw some at West Marine for like $50 a bulb !

Do a gogle search, there are a ton of LED places all over the web other than marine stores. You can dim them using decreasing voltage (potentonmeter and resistors ). I think so anyhow , I am sure some more electircal type will chime in.

I'm going to change my running lights to led's--the current draw is dramtically lower. eBay is another source for them.

Are you rewiring the whole fixture, or putting in a replacement bulb that uses a LED?

All you have to do is change the bulb. The biggest struggle is identifying each type of bulb -- it's not difficult/just detail and Im not good at details.

Ok. If you or anyone knows any good stores / websites to get the bulbs that would be appreciated. Again, West Marine was getting like $50 a bulb !
