I am looking at a 311 and wonder if anyone can tell me if there is room in the engine compartment for a staggered bravo engine setup. I have seen many with the TRS drivelines and so there has to be at least 9 inches to move the stbd one back and put the port one foreward a little. I think That a 3/4 or full stagger may fit. Has anyone done this conversion?

No, unless you cut out the back sea and floor, and why would you even bother?

The reason I would bother is that If I were going to convert from TRS to bravo I would (1) recut the transom anyway (2) have to remount the engines anyway (3) it gets the drives closer together in cleaner water for better performance (4) it moves some weight foreward for a better balanced boat. (5) The transom looks much cooler with the drives near the center.
I guess the reasons to not do it are(1) $$$$$$ (2) TIME (3) it will not fit that way anyway, I thought there was more room back there.

Definitely not an option unless you're prepared to totally strip the hull down and re-stringer it, move tankage, re-form the cockpit liner, blah, blah, blah. Just not feasible.
