78,8 MPH in a 419 SR1 with Merc 496
#1
last week i finished prop testing on my 1991 Formula 419 SR1
Setup:
Triple Mercruiser 496 HO (from 2002)
RAYLAR Kit BCK 103 (525 HP)
Bravo 1 XR Drives 1:1,50 with Imco extension Boxes and external steering
Lab finished Bravo 1 30 pitch Props
Thru Hull exhaust with livorsi switchable silencers
Test in sweatwater showed 70 MPH (GPS) with stock engines at 5000 RPM wit 26 `bravo 1 lab finished (salt water 73 MPH at 5150 RPM)
after installation of the Raylar Kit first test with
28 `Bravo 1 lab finished showed 77 MPH at 5150 RPM (hitting rev limiter)
Got some 30 `Bravo 1 lab finished props - new test in sweatwater: 78,8 MPH (GPS) at 5000 RPM with 220 gal of fuel onboard and anti - fauling paint !
I am very optimistic to see 80 MPH in saltwater next year
Engines have extrem torque - I am able to plane the boat without tabs on any 2 of 3 engines with the big 30 `props
Also the boat weight lost 300 pounds thru the new RAYLAR heads.
more about the BCK 103 kit you find here
