Opinions wanted on value of my 311/VERY IMPORTANT

Russ,
I have to agree with pretty much everything said here. The emotional value and money invested in accessories never equals the "book" or "loan" value. It is a very nice clean boat, but the current market (especially with the fuel prices the way they are these days) is just not going to support the kind of number she was coming up with. Tell her to "PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN!" You are more than fair with your offer. She should take it and run.
Best of luck in this situation.
Chris

Sorry to hear about this situation.
I think that we are in a buyer's market. I'm not sure how much the book values mean at this point, they were published before the price of gas jumped to $3+ a gallon. A while back I was considering a move up to something like 311 but have since put those plans on hold. The wife wants a cruiser, hopefully we'll compromise and get 330SS
I've had my 242LS for sale for a long time now for $13.5K. I've advertised online and in print. No calls and maybe one email. It is a nice boat and is offered for what I think is a reasonable price. I'd sink it and take the insurance money before I'd take a lowball offer, heck I'll just keep it another couple of seasons. Of course I'm not in a position where I need to sell it. The other thing working against me is that being in the northeast the season is just about over.
Your boat is definitely worth something, I just think that $35K might be a bit high. To me a steal would be $20K and a good price would be $25K. But of course it depends on condition. I think your $15K offer is very generous, is it too late to take it back?
