There is no place to put a fridge in a 292 cabin. As was mentioned earlier,Formula is a production boat, very little leeway on options. But generally, most desirable options are already available anyway. The Lathum steering has always been available as a safety option, just not listed on the price sheet. They call it a silent option.

Wouldn't the hydraulic steering be very similar to the setups on the 353 and 382. An install on the 292 can't be much different. A Fridge would require signifcant cabin modifications that would be considered unfamiliar territory so I understand why that's not possible.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that Formula is a production boat company but just wondered the extent of a little customization based on the previous discussions. IMHO a fridge should be available in a 29 foot boat. Looking forward to additional pictures as the boat progresses during the build phase.

Like the phantom says.....Formula builds a great boat!

Looks like they got the SC5000 monitor in there with the Monster tachs. A nice fit!

Yep! And the mechanical indicators will fit just to right of the starboard tach filling the dash out nicely.

Thanks Wrink. That's quite a resume... So where do you go from a 382??

While we're kind of on a 292 kick here, the new vette 6.0 engine has 400 hp with cat converters and all the other things that limit power in a car. The Escalade with the 6.0 truck engine has 380 hp. So why does the mercury engine that requires 0 emissions only put out 320hp???? Any one have an answer for that?-Nick

Nick, I'll take a stab at it... I don't think there is any question Mercury could build more horsepower out of 6.2 liters, they just don't want to. A boat engine works MUCH harder than an auto engine. Put enough weight behind that vette so when it is floored the rpm can't climb any higher than 5200 rpm. That is the kind of work these boat engines must go through all the time. If Mercury built these engines to make more hp they would be looking at larger oil pans, oil coolers, etc. and reduced reliability. They need to be sure the engines will at least last through the warranty period. MHO

At what rpm is it making those horses? Above 5200 or so, and you'll start cooking outdrives.
