Engine room treadplate

Replacing the rubber mat on the step in my engine room with powdercoated aluminum treadplate. Rubber was looking pretty bad. Custom fabricated deal.

Hey, did that save any weight? :)
Thanks,
Garrett

Re: Engine room treadplate

Probably about the same weight as the rubber. I used the 1/16" treadbrite which is the same thickness as the rubber mat. It is actually a little flimsy, but it is secured to 3/4" plywood so I don't think it will matter. I would have preferred to use the 1/8" treadplate ... it is pretty stout but it is also a fair bit heavier.

Garrett, if you decide to do that, you better show me some pics :drink: :drink:

Looks like it is going to be sweet Chris. I'm ready to see what it looks like installed

Hi Corey,

I'll probably wait a little while on the mod's. I talked to Mike today. Sounds like the boat is running really great. Weather permitting, I'll be driving out to pick it up on the 27th and get the boat on the morning of the 28th. I think. :)

I bet that aluminum tread plate would look good anodized black. But, the powder coat is probably better at resisting corrosion, I'm guessing.

It's out to the powdercoaters now. I will get a couple shots when I get it re-installed.

I don't have to worry about any rubber mats. I don't even have room to drop a wrench :(

Chris
The new tread plate looks great and the install looks very professional.
I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but I think you are missing an engine.

Chris,
Looks nice. How'd the dash turn out?

Working on laying that out on my kitchen table now. Probably couldn't do that if I had a wife ... :D

Looks awesome. Before you make it final, consider the new monster gauges Formula is using. A few more bucks, but you don't have a wife so go for it :D Nice work.
