Engine room treadplate
#1
Replacing the rubber mat on the step in my engine room with powdercoated aluminum treadplate. Rubber was looking pretty bad. Custom fabricated deal.

Probably about the same weight as the rubber. I used the 1/16" treadbrite which is the same thickness as the rubber mat. It is actually a little flimsy, but it is secured to 3/4" plywood so I don't think it will matter. I would have preferred to use the 1/8" treadplate ... it is pretty stout but it is also a fair bit heavier.

Hi Corey,
I'll probably wait a little while on the mod's. I talked to Mike today. Sounds like the boat is running really great. Weather permitting, I'll be driving out to pick it up on the 27th and get the boat on the morning of the 28th. I think.
I bet that aluminum tread plate would look good anodized black. But, the powder coat is probably better at resisting corrosion, I'm guessing.
