382 Prop suggestions

Happy New Year All! :drink:

I would like any and all feedback from 382 owners, knowledgeable experts or what the hell, anyone who wants to voice their opinion.
My lovely lady and I have a 1999 382 w/Ext. boxes and about 500hp+ at each prop through 1.5 Bravo performance drives :D . I am currently running (before winter) Labbed 28p B1s and I'm pushing the limiters (5500) at 76mph. If you have 5blade experience or any other input please reply.
I posted a similar request in the prop section a few months ago, but it's winter and I'm bored and want more input.

Thx, Tom

I think Troutly switched to 5 blades and likes them on his 38

Tom,
I have a 1998 382 with 620 hp @ 5500 rpm at the flywheel, no boxes. I have tried several props, some of them 5 blade and the best prop for my combo is the bravo one four blade. I run my non-labbed 28's at 5500- 5600 @ 83 mph, I bought a new set of 30's that will turn 5300 rpm.
I plan on getting the 30's labbed this winter. The cruise speed is much better with the 30's, but the motors like the rpm a little higher.
I hope this helps.
Jeff

Hey All,
Thanks for the input. Troutly, what's your setup?

Re: 382 Prop suggestions

We just put a set of 26Maximus on my old 382 (500efi's, stellings) They have about a 2 1/2" diffuser. The boat is a little slow on plane, but believe it or not, it is running 80. I couldn't believe my old boat was running that well, but it is. I will find out more of the details when they finish with it, but so far I have been thoroughly impressed.

You turning in or out? What props did you replace? Are the Maximus labbed? What diameter? Yada, Yada. :D

Re: 382 Prop suggestions

I thought those numbers would draw some questions.

I don't have all the answers but I'll get them from my guy later today. I was only running 72-73 before, but was never propped right, so it wasn't a good comparison. I do know that they are turning out, and like I said have a pretty tall diffuser ring on them. I'll get the exact specs and post them later.

I did find out that they are 26" cut back to a 25, and they are 15" diameter. They are labbed as well. Thats about all I know. He is still doing a little work on them to get them just how he wants them.

last time I saw those Hydros, I would say you could run just about anything and be better!! :evilb:
