Ran over 74 today pushing 28's ... I think there is more there ... first time on the 28's it did good low end and mid range but would flatten out@ 4600 .... Rechecked the timing and it was still retarded some so we reset to about 32* total and picked up about 500 RPM and about 8 mph ....m

I knew you'd need at least 28s! So that's 74 @ 5100 with 28 B-1s? It sounds like that may be the right combo, just need to fine tune the power to get 'em to spin faster.
Did you notice cruise speeds with the 28s?

I'll be very interested in your results, I need to have an idea what props to run next year. Took it easy with my 496's this summer to get a few hours on them and didn't have time to try different set ups. Not sure if mine are making as much power as yours. Made a few passes at 70 @ 5200 and throttled back with my original Mirage 23's. I thought about trying 26 four blade Hydromotives, more interested in midrange than all out top speed.
BTW I'm running 34* total with 9.5 compression and no signs of detonation, but with the 23 props the engines havn't been loaded heavy. I do always run 91/92 fuel.
Your whole set up looks really good, the work shows. Please keep posting progress.

Now that's impressive ... I don't think I'm even hitting 40mph @ 3100. Your "project" took a while but it looks like it was worth it.

We took a ride Wednesday nite across the river to a local Resturant ... 6 Adults and a 5 year old ... almost full load of fuel and still 50 mph at 31-3200 ...I'm very happy with that ..cant wait to work on the top end some more ... I doubt I see a drastic change but we'll see .....m

Mike do you have any old panels or some type of pattern I could borrow or buy for the dash to make some new panels for my boat? ( 311 ) I would like to keep my old dash in tack for now in till I have a complete new one ready to drop in. By the way your boat looks really nice, keep up the good work. P.M. if you can help me out. Propwash I don't know if you remember but I tried to look at your trailer before you had your boat shipped from Michigan. Did you finally sell that trailer and get another one? Todd
