Re: project ......
Yup that will work. WAY overkill for the areas that are not motor mounts but if the guy has it and is giving you a deal no harm in that. I was going to go the foam rout but the additional costs over my entire job was going to be HUGE. My cousins husband used to own a foam distribution plant and I could get killer deals, but that day is done so...... back to paying full boat for the stuff. Looks like it is coming along.

Re: project ......

Re: project ......
Skater still uses Balsa..... I guess they suck :evilb: :evilb: The new Formula's use a new drop in stringer system that has no wood in it. Very light very strong. They had some issues at first with it but now it is all figured out.

cut one side of each stringer out of the boat .... the cut outs will be used as patterns for the foam. Foam will be glassed on one side and then reinstalled in the boat and glassed into the existing stringers. The bulkhead will have to be completely built from scratch, there was nothing left. The old bulkhead was about 1" total but we are going to use the 1 1/2" foam which will result in about a 2" bulkhead .....we also are going to build supports from the outside stringers to the hull ....about 8" on each side of where the motor mounts are ....should be VERY strong ..
