I have taken the silent thunder box off my 252LS as part of a project and the covered up area cleaned out very nicley and I am debating if I should just leave it off?
I am thinking of adding exhaust tips like in the attached pictures and my question is if the boat will get too loud?
I do not know what brand tips those are and if they sound like a straight thru hull (which I do not want) or if the internal Flapper/valve acts as a muffler? I would be adding an additional rubber flapper at the tips.
The music will be from a HP525
Please advise,
Jamal

Internal flapper just helps prevent water inversion. It will be LOUD.If you don't want that, call Fred at Trick Marine,he can hook you up with some tips with mufflers. Leave the silent thunder box off and buy some new tips with mufflers,a cleaner look with no rattles.

I do not want any outlaw issues nor do I want it to be LOUD.
Fred seems to be the man, I'll contact him as I am also looking to upgrade the stock bennett trim tabs with a larger add on tabs.
Thanks for the input.

offthefront, I have a picture with it still attached to the transom. It's a '98 Formula 252LS.
I'll take a picture with it off when I pick up the silent thunder box from my marina.
