Headliner problem/question
 
I have a 2000 382 and my cabin headliner has come down to the point where I can no longer keep it attached above. It seems that the foam and adhesive have disintegrated and I get black little flaky stuff all over the cabin.

Has anyone else experienced this and what suggestion can you provide for a fix??

You can talk to Nort (he'll be responding to this thread, no doubt). I remember reading his thread about his headliner heading for the bilge :D .

I have called Formula and get absolutely no one to speak to about this. I am so frustrated with the way they pass you off to the next person and then drop you into someone's voice mail and after four days they still don't reply. I call back and the gate keeper (phone receptionist) makes excuses for them as to why they have not returned my calls.

I am trying to get Formula to lead me in the right direction on how to fix this problem and I am sure I am not the only one who has experienced this.

JB,Formula is typically the absolute best in response. Not making excuses but the dealer meeting is next week,all the customer reps except Darryl Johnson are in Florida,Darryl is covering for everybody. He said send him an e-mail at [email protected] and he will respond quickly. Robert

WOW....Can't believe that is falling down like that. :mad:

Did they do something different in the 353's? I just cleaned mine last week, and don't see how THAT is even possible.

Sorry for the bad news. Hope Formula steps up on this one!

After we PM'd and you descibed it......I didn't think it was ANYTHING like what you see in these pictures! I thought it was just a littel spot....not the whole roof! That is crazy! It looks like the backing glue is non-existant!

I hope Formula steps up. I don't care how old the boat is.....I've never seen that ever! Let me ask the stupid quetion......was it ever submerged?

I finally got an answer after a month of e-mails and phone calls. What would you do??? Besides buy a different brand boat.



In looking into this, I talked to our buyer to see if the vendor has changed anything with the foam on the material that we buy. She said that they have not. We have not seen any further cases of this happening lately. My guess is that this is an isolated case and maybe we had 1 roll that had something different with the foam. I can not offer up any parts or labor, but I can offer up as to how to accomplish this. The first thing that you will need to do is to remove the lights in the center panel. After that is done, you will be able to see the mounting screws that are holding up the center panel. You will then need to remove the center panel to gain access to the outer panels. I hope that this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

JB,

Sorry to read the response from Formula. :mad: I would expect them to replace at their cost, particularly since they think it is an "isolated case and maybe we had 1 roll that had something different with the foam." The cost to replace yours is minimal, rather than have a pi$$ed off customer to bad mouth them. Not at all a proper customer service response. :eek: :eek:
