Re: Headliner problem/question
Quote from Treads:
"Sorry to read the response from Formula. I would expect them to replace at their cost, particularly since they think it is an "isolated case and maybe we had 1 roll that had something different with the foam." The cost to replace yours is minimal, rather than have a pi$$ed off customer to bad mouth them. Not at all a proper customer service response." Very well said. I would expect more from Formula. |

Re: Headliner problem/question
Man that seems messed up. They are admitting guilt but then not offering to fix it. I would have a lawer write them a quick letter. I hope that there is more to this story then what we are seeing.....

Re: Headliner problem/question
???? Notice when other builders treat an owner like this no-one is suprised, but when Formula does it.....WTF. It does kinda look like the headliner had been underwater or something. Never seen one come apart like that!!!
Good Luck with the repair, even if they offered to fix it, you'd have had to bring it to their plant. |
Re: Headliner problem/question
The 1996 382 that was on eBay several times (that I almost bought! ) had almost the same problem. The fabric covering the headliner was drooping down throughout the entire cabin! Kinda like an old car's headliner would do! I called Formula and they acted as if it was an easy fix and also acted as if it was NOT an isolated case. FYI.

Formula needs to step up here and handle this. Isolated or not, for the money spent on these boats, this is just plane wrong. |
Re: Headliner problem/question
I have a 96 with the exact same problem. From what I read, formula is not much help. If anyone has experience fixing this problem, please let me know what you did. I'm losing about 4 inches of headroom b/c is drooping so much on the stb. side.

Re: Headliner problem/question
The boat is in mint condition for the exception of this headliner problem. I purchased it from an owner out of Florida who did not use it very often and it was closed up in the Florida heat and humidity which is what they tell me caused this headliner foam material to disintegrate and lose it's glue hold on the vinyl headliner material.
What ever.... It still should not happen to a five year old boat of this type. Formula knows this has happened in the past and refuses to acknowledge this and that is if the right people at Formula are even aware of this. I could only communicate with Daryl Johnson who was never available for your calls and took over a month to return my multiple e-mails regarding the problem. I did offer to bring the boat to Formula in the fall for this repiar. I will write a letter to Scott Porter and see where that gets me. :( |
