Re: 292 Speeds

When I had my 02 292 it would run in salt at 72 to 74 GPS always 2 people never heavy on fuel if I was looking for speed. I wish I new where my old boat was and how it was doing.

My 2003 with 6.2's, which is for sale, by the way, will run 69-70 GPS all day long no matter what the load. I'm running stock 28's also.

Re: 292 Speeds

MY 2002 with 6.2's will almost always run 70 or better, GPS , on the freshwater lake near our home. Speedometer shows right at 75- 76 :D ... Last week I took 2 of my rather "big" friends out for a ride and with 3/4 tank of fuel, we saw 70.5 on GPS, at 5000 rpm, running stock Bravo 1 28P props. I do know if you trim the boat too much, real speed will start to drop, even though the speedometer still seems to climb a little - but that is not uncommon with the standard bravo 1 speedo pickups ... easy way to impress your friends (unless one of them has a GPS  ). Also, starts to throw some interesting "rooster tail" if you get it trimmed too much, too!
