2000 271 with procharger
I came across a beautiful 2000 271 with a procharger this weekend. I learned about the boat through a member on the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association forum.
I drove to Dundalk, MD (about 20 miles from Annapolis) to see it yesterday. It looked familiar to me. I looked at the drive and it has external steering and he's running a 28P bravo I prop. The 271 Formulas come stock with a 26P so I figured the engine must be tweeked.
Sure enough the boat is the one I saw listed on yachtworld.com

The owner called me after I returned home. His contract with the broker is done, so he says he can sell it direct. Boat has 502 MPI with a procharger. Price is $49,999, which seems like a good price given the year and condition. Boat is extremely clean.
I am nervous about an engine with a supercharger, so I am going to pass. He rebuilt the motor and enhanced the fuel system. He replaced the pistons, bored to 509 and other tweaks. Includes MSD ignition. The drive is a "heavy duty" bravo I with the heavy duty gears, not sure what that means. Exhaust is aftermarket, not sure which brand, he has the original silent thunder switchable exhaust. He says he has receipts for $25K including the external steering. I'm sure he does...though I worry about long term reliability. I can afford the boat but if the motor grenades I'd be in a world of hurt. I don't need to go 80mph+ in a 27 foot boat and I'm not sure what the insurance would cost.
Owner said that he wants to move the boat and if I knew anyone looking to pass on the information. I have the guy's cell phone number if anyone is interested.
If posting info about a boat for sale is not appropriate...someone tell me and I'll delete this thread...
