271 Silent Thunder
Friend has a 2000, 271. Exhaust/water is leaking all around the Silent Thunder box where it bolts up to the bottom of the platform. Do we need just a peripheral-type seal for this or are there "donut" gaskets inside like my older style 311 paltform?
Thanks. |
Re: 271 Silent Thunder
There are seals around the exhaust tips where they exit the transom and a perimiter seal where the platform and transom meet.
Talk to Magicfloat hes a Formula dealer. He can get the seals for you. When you friend pulls the platform have him check for rotting wood in the platform. Common problem. |

tell him to get rid of it and buy a pair of used Corsas or the like. They are plentiful as take-offs cheap/reasonable. No more box hassles, and that 271 could really benefit from the weight removal from the stern! Not to mention easier cleaning.

Re: 271 Silent Thunder
Since you didn't say what year the boat was I assumed it was an older model with the bolt-on platform. Not a 2000 with a molded in platform.
Sorry. |
