All cars have a similer device, but they also shut the pump down in an accident, shock sensitive.

Your fuel pump should come on during cranking to pressurize the system. Then continue to run as long as the engine does.

It does, but after sitting for a while it takes a few seconds to prime and fire the engine.I think the pump or injectors are causing the leak down after sitting for a couple of days.I will have to get a pressure gage and see if it is a sudden drop or over time drop in pressure.I would think it should mantain the 29 psi after being shut down.

Re: 206 Ls

Great boat. I owned an 88 206 LS with the 5.7 MPI 320 HP engine. Mercruiser only made the engine for 1 year. It was their first fule enjected engine. It was basically a marineized vette engine. The problem with the engine is that you can't find parts. The manifold is alluminum and the block is cast iron. I used the boat is salt water and the manifold turned to dust at 360 hours. In the meantime I ran it at 5000 RPM's for 360 hours. It was bullet proof. I could not find a replacement anywhere. They don't make them. I was lucky enough to find a used manifold from a guy in lake george. The boat will run 64 MPH at WOT. I used the boat in Barnegett bay and the ocean when under 3 feet. I loved the boat and sold it 5 years ago to a guy in Fire Island who still uses it. Great boat, fast engine, make sure you can find the parts before you buy it. Good luck! 64 in a 20.5 foot boat feels like 100MPH. Lot's of fun.

Top speed ?

What motor & prop are you running to get 60 mph? I just bought my 206 a year ago with a fresh 350 vortec in it and I only turn 4200 and 50mph tops but I need more, so let me know your set up!

This may be a bit off topic but since you are talking engines.
Are there "lift points" on your engines. I mean for hoisting.
I found two metal pieces bolted to each head on my volvo penta 5.7
Would be great if those things are made for lifting the engine :)
