I REALLY like the 400SS, BUT I will want a go-fast cruiser that has a state-room type bed at the front of the cabin, not a convertible bed.
The Black Thunders and the Apache Sunseekers are configured like I describe. I know the Formula PC is also built like such.
Why don't they build the 400SS like that?

I think the ticket with the 40ss is to sleep in the aft and leave the frt set up as a table, etc. The full size fridge in the 40 blows away the Sunseeker and the BT. What you want is basically a 38 Fountain EC

Hey Brian this is Jay Meyer i looked at everything in the express market and bought a 05 400 and the aft bed is the way to go because it is much darker in the back and you always have front area to party on or sleep two more. Plus I know of asuper clean 38 ec for sale

Thanks Ted & Jay. Great to hear from both of you.
I am definitely not ready to give up my 37, and I am eagerly looking forward to spending some time on the 43 Active Thunder next year before I make any decisions. The cabin layout of the 38 Fountain EC is nice, but I don't like any part of the rest of the boat.

Maybe an Excaliber 45 is the boat for you, the quality is not there but the size and the speed and a front bedroom door are there. But compare the space in it to a 4ooSS and you will see the advantages.
