market value of a 1999 353
#1
looking at a decent 353 with 502 mpis, extension boxes, 1 owner, lift kept with 280 hrs. no a/c, no genny. boat has its share of nicks and scratches, the brackets for the driver/passenger seats have some of the white coating coming off, few screws missing here and there, some of the formica used on trim around bathroom door chipped and or cracked off etc...just a lil picky and also the latches for the two forward deck hatches came apart from the hatch and supposedly need to be sent to Formula to be re-adhered. i'll give her an over 6-7 outta a possible 10. WHATS SHE WORTH$$$

A/C not even available till '06 on 353
gen never was, still isn't...so don't "dock" the boat for the lack of these things.
502EFI's 300 hours...
the boxes are worth nothing actually.
latches and hardware are nothing, it's really about paint and gel damage, upholstery, and yes the formica/plastic in the cabin as far as de-valueing for condition.
without pics of damages in and out...
and this boat is salty correct?
and no trailer...
any recent reciepts for engine/box/drive maintenence or new parts?
I'm gonna start the bidding at 80K
but you gotta remember pricing on an 8 year old boat is very condition dependent...and condition is subjective!
what's the asking $ ?

considering the condition/ time of year/ market right now.....I'll go low-mid $70's
(I just sold a 98 312 with 502's that was a 9.5 with A/C on a 2005 trailer for $53K)

What you sold your 312 for has got nothing to do with it.
Much stronger market on 353's
again, the difference between low-balling in the 70's and pissin' the guy off, and offering 80 is the condition, which without seeing it or at least pics...we are all just guessing how extensive any/all damage is.
The thing that bothers me is that if a boat of this caliber is beat-up/not cared for, how much service has it had, and was it abused in the water?

All this is irrelevant based on Bernie's other thread anyway.....he said he's got a limit of $65K which won't buy a 353 unless it's been sunk.

dont bet on it !!!
yes my limit is $65k and when i say owner is motivated i mean he is MOTIVATED !! i dealt directly with owner not broker and sea trialed her yesterday and i believe if i had $65k i coulda bought it but may be a lil to big for what im looking for...but may buy it just because of "THE DEAL !!!"
