Hey Guys, I need your help ! ( I'm new here but I enjoy reading what everyone has to say and I RESPECT the knowlege that is out there)
I want to replace the engines (carb 500HPs) in my '98 353 and think I've been convinced I don't want to go the supercharger route.
I'm looking at the 572s that a couple shops have available.
Can you give me the pros & cons of the 572s in my boat, what shop you may have experience with and what I may expect as a legitimate top end ?
Reliability, dock manners and top end are equally important to me.
I appreciate your input, suggestions and experiences.
Thanks

If you are gonna be a bear might as well be a Grizzly, How about a pair of Viper V-10s? Up to 600HP with fuel injection and no blower! If big block Chevy is what you want how about Marine Inovations 600`s like Formula put in the 382 w/Volvo DPX drives? Lotta HP on 89 octane gas what a motor bullet proof and the meanst sound I have ever heard w/ Stelling headers. WICKED!!!

If you want to go on a budget way take some Merc 496 Mag and add some BCK 103 Raylar kits and get 525 natural aspirated all day running horses

Stroke your HP500 to 540 CU IN and with good heads like AFR and cam change you can get 600HP easy and still have good idle quality. Look at the threads in tech section. Joe Murray
