Did the flat end just release itself from the lid or did the arm break somewhere?

WTF does "sonically attached" mean. Sonic relates to sound.

Must be a "clap on, clap off" eh!? :p

Now here this,, all 353 owners,,, no clapping allowed on board!!!!!!!!

Be interseting to hear what Bomar means by that.

I have never had that happen, usually the arm breaks and the entire hatch has to be replaced. Surely some type of glue would bond the part back to the lid.Wouldn't have to be all that strong as you should only need the hatches open while not running. If you try to run the boat with them open, you risk breaking some of the adjuster parts, and then you have an expensive fix. With all the hi-tech adhesives now available, something should work. I would certainly try it,hatches are not cheap.

So what was the fix here bern....did you get it worked out? We just had the bracket that is "sonically " attached break where the ram is pinned into it.

berns29scarab 07-25-2007 07:25 PM

i used a 2 part epoxy to re-adhere it

Magicfloat 07-25-2007 07:53 PM

You can get the adjuster(ram) part from Bomar. I think they will sell direct to consumer. If not,I can order thru my dealership and have them drop ship to you.Get a part # from them and let me know if they won't sell to you.Sounds like you don't need their "sonically welded" part, just the adjuster. Thanks Robert, I called them today and they agreed to sell me just the part I needed. All i needed was the piece that is "sonically welded" to the bottom of the plexiglass (or whatever that stuff is made of). Last night I had to remove that part from the hatch since it broke the ram mount but stayed glued "sonically welded" to the hatch....I didn't think I'd ever get that thing off!!!! Hopefully this stays put, I bought some "glue made for plexiglass another member recommended.

BTW: when the lady gave me the "sonically welded" pitch I told her I had already heard about that and I thought it was a word they just made up to make the sale. :cool-smiley-027:
