Formula receiver hitch cover

Always thought one should be available, now it is at www.formulagear.com Only problem is most covers are plastic and cost a few bucks. This one is 316L stainless steel and is $82  But I bought one anyway for my new truck. :drink: :drink:

You are one of the top dealers in the US... shouldn't you get a few freebies now and then... at least a 5% discount :evilb:

Very nice piece, but it is pricey.

The kids in my area, or in any area in Florida for that matter, will steal anything that isn't nailed down or locked.
I had to buy new wheel chocks for the trailer because somebody stole one. They couldn't get the other chock out from under the tire. Good thing because the trailer would have rolled down the drive into the street. Probably would have run over the theif in the process and been sued. The new chocks are the type that spread open and jam between the two tires on each side (dual axel trailer) and a chain with padlocks to keep them there. :(

Woulda been great to see the little bastid with a flat arm and tread marks. But, you're right Iggy,,,,, it somehow would have been your fault and the kid would end up owning your boat!

I have lockable receiver pin, which I bought for just such an occasion, but I still have a hard time with $82.

I wanted a hitch cover for my truck so I took the plastic one that came with Karen's Toyota Sequoia, pried off the Toyota logo and stuck the $15 Bird on it. But it looked cheap,so I never used it. The new one is what I was waiting on. Yeah,$82 is crazy, but it's all in the way you look at it. Nice Christmas present from me to me :drink:

Not true Mr. Mayor, there is no "Beak" on the hitch cover or plate to skew the real size.

Carefull now, ventilated bottom Formulas fall into the same catagory refered to as "Spinner bottom boats" as do the Fountains. At least on the Velocity website, where we are all cautioned as to the evils of their design, and cautioned about taking our loved ones for a ride for fear of impending doom, or even death. And I quote the words of the man ,Mr. Stepp, himself.

They looked metalic in nature to me. At least the hitch cover. I'll call Reggie on the hot line and report back. I'm sure if they are plastic it's to reduce weight and enhance performance. He's on top of everything.

I think that I'm getting one for xmas, :D if so I'll report back with my opinion of the thing, although for the price I never would have bought it for myself.

I just got mine,it's very classy, solid stainless steel. Since Formulas are heavy boats,it make sense that the cover is also heavy, right? :D :drink:

They start about something, then we all get involved, and for some strange reason they begin to go astray. Go figure!!!

Its funny how I mentioned this to Formula 6 months ago when I was dealing with them for a few things, but 82 dollars???

PremierPOWER 03-03-2007 12:15 PM

Bought one of these form Formula and had it on my truck for about 3 weeks so far. The O in Formula is already rubbed off!! pretty pissed about this, especially for $80

PremierPOWER 03-07-2007 10:36 AM

Good news, apparently multiple people had trouble with this. Formula called me today and said they would have UPS pick it up and send a new one. Good customer Service

Magicfloat 03-07-2007 03:56 PM

As a side note, when I read PP's original post I typed a response saying I was sure Formula would replace it free, but deleted the reply cause I didn't want to butt in. Glad my instincts were correct, but there was never any doubt:drink: And yes,I am proud to be a Formula dealer. The horror stories of 41 years in business with various builders would fill a book.

Formula backs up the quality of thier hitch plug better than some back the boats they manufacture

I have to agree. It is way cool that I can call Formula about my 6 year old boat that I bought used and ask them anything. And when they say they will call me back, they do! Seems to be a rare thing these days. Formula rocks! :drink: :drink: :drink:

A little off topic, but I also had really good luck with my 95 Ski Nautique. Other brands will not be named to prevent defamation lawsuits.

I was impressed, I was going to call them within the next few days to ask about it. They called ME though, that is unheard of.
