The New Bird Hauler Part Deux!!

3 Attachment(s)
Well, time for me to retire the old Sanford and Son dually!

Got to keep up the Image instead of looking Ragged and like I woke up at 5PM Somewhere. I know you will all be Wizard's of Ahh's admiring the NEW (to me) dually. I knew that it was time to upgrade trucks now that I'm going to be trailer my Thirdbird further then ever before, and now it can be done in some sort of comfort.

Spare all the comments about having a new truck to haul the motors around...Been there, done that! :D

Can't resist........ Two engines are a tight fit in the short box, the long box is a practical choice. :D The hay bale tie downs could come in real handy.

Just be sure to have a "SNIFF TEST" done, farm duty can have "LINGERING" effects on a vehicle. You wouldn't want to become known as the "WIZZARD OF AHH'sh!t", or "SMELLIN' THE MOST"

Re: The New Bird Hauler Part Deux!!

2WD?

if it is, a coupla spare motors in the back would be an advantage getting that load up a slippery ramp with a 2WD duallie.

otherwise Mike and I will keep our tow staps handy. :D

light duty for the 'Maxes. :p

......and after all the diesel bashing, I've decided to dump my '06 duramax and buy the S&S dually to tow the polaris 900 around, the current setup is a little bit of overkill for 300lbs.

"Chillin' the Most".

Re: The New Bird Hauler Part Deux!!

Are we going to have an all-white hauling crew? Mine is white, Axa's is white, I think 5PM said his is white. How about Rip and Rag? Colors/pics?

Rip and Rag,,,,,,,,,, I kinda like that.:D

Nice truck! Not to start a Ford vs Chevy debate here, but that truck could be a 4wd. You never really know on a Chevy since they are soooo low in the front...

Man, one dig on the S&S dually and he goes and does this. I believe it's actually just a ploy to be more like his ultimate hero MV. Can a fountain be far behind?

The spankin' new Road Rag is white w/silver tt on bottom, gasser 4X4 Ext cab. No retrieval problems here. :D

The RIP Mobile is red w/a red out everything package, makes him the odd duck out. However it is one of those smoke spewing oil burners like 5PM's.

5P's is white, but a sooty color towards the back. Oil burner, don't you know.

The peer pressure was just too much.
I too had to have a white tow vehicle.

Need to install one of those video screens in the cab to keep track of what's going on back there. Another job for "Audio/Video Guy".:D

Need to sell that to 5PM to tow his Polari water craft.

My thoughts exactly. The practical advantages of the 8' box. A man should always have spares.:D

1) WTF is an S&S dually?

2) Idol worship can get ugly. Next will be the 1500 hp blower motors to try to break MV's 110 mph number.

3) God help Reginald and myself if this ever happens.

Sanford and Son

credit to 5P, that was good.

axapowell 01-16-2007 07:12 PM

Re: The New Bird Hauler Part Deux!!

Credit to all....I always know I can come back for a laugh or two!

As for the truck, yes 2wd. 4.10 gears and a Dana 80 Posi. No problems with the other truck on any ramp, even though I only use one 1-3 times a year.

Thanks for the comments!

And credit to 5PM for the SS dually comment!

Dave

How would you know, you're drivin' a '98 Saturn and your big bad 4wd Duramax is in the garage! And, and, and, ...................it's RED!!!!

Re: The New Bird Hauler Part Deux!!

Rip,

Being 6'5"ish riding around in the white Saturn you must look like a Shriner on his mini-bike. Sorta like puttin yurself in a fountain cockpit...... On another note did ya get rid of the $4 red mudflaps on the Chevy? As far as Axa spinnin' at the ramp, that's not an issue since he almost exclusively uses his travel lift guy :D :D :D

very similar to both visions :snide:

yes, I am cutting my own $4 flaps (okay $22) out of the same 24x30" poly semi-truck pieces in black as we speak. You cannot buy anything that adequately protects with big rolling stock, you have to make them. I'm all about protection!

Little concern for you as you still have that school-boy rubber under yours. :D

Refered to at HBW as the "BFM", and operated by his buddy Cooter, the "Engine Plucker Guy". He only launches once per year with the truck, all the engine haul/launch work is done by his guy Cooter with the "BFM" or the "BFFL".:D :D

As well you should be. These days a good protection package is important........... or is that good package protection is important?

And why would you pay $22 for those $4 flamin' red mud flaps?
