The 382 will walk through nasty washing machine like it's not there. It is like a tank.

I own the '99 382 Poker Run Special. I am also the Chief physician for GLOPRA and GLSCS and have ridden in a few of the Formula 382 Poker Run boats at race sites over the years.

As far as the second set of bolsters go, I personally do not like them. OK if all you do is poker runs with four people, but there is literally NO ROOM to move around in the cockpit. It is very difficult to sit in the back seat. If you plan to use the boat recreationally with your family, you would very much regret this set-up.

Check out the photos and see how cramped a large cockpit becomes ...

I put the Mcleod bolsters in my 1983 302 a couple of years ago. At that time it cost 4500.00 U.S. They are made right in Michigan 734 942 1166 any color combination you want. Easy to install as well.

The cockpit will be tight with four electric bolsters/footrests. As an option in 2004 they cost $14,555.00. Wasn't sure I would like them, but I do, and your passengers will appreciate them tremendously, especially in rough conditions.

Also, with the four seat system, if anyone is sitting in the bench seat, their view will be slightly obstructed because of the two additional bolsters.

With four people aboard and the waves kick-up, I feel much more comfortable that my passengers are "locked in" their seats.

I would definitely check this setup out to see if its right for you and your family.

With the "six pack" set-up, you can't even stand up straight in the rear seat behind the second set of bolsters. You also cannot move around the cockpit if there are more than four people ... someone is always in the way.

It all depends on your personal preference and what you intend to do with the boat.

Agreed it would be best to try each out and see what works for you.

Would be neat to be able to have an option for quick disconnect mechanism to temporarily remove the rear bolsters if one wanted.
