I could use the outside half on mine, cracked while it was closed and latched.

I spoke with Multi-Fab and they indicated they did not have the old patterns and that I would have to send the old one in for a quote. I then had my mechanic send the old piece to a client of his in St. Louis and they came back with a . . . wait for it . . . wait . . . $700 quote which is horse hockey. Or horse ****, if you are not easily offended by language. So, i am going to talk to the guy in KC- who didn't seem to think anything was a problem -and I will advise. If there are a bunch of us, I am sure we could get a quantity discount. And- my hatch was half open and I stood up into it, knocked me flat and cracked it at the bend. Made it 17 years at LOTO and I break it with my mellon . . . .

$700 would probably buy a few 4'x8' sheets of material for them to practice on :D
Of course I don't have contact info for the guy that did my windshield, but it was around $200. That was for at least 1/2"x2ftx4ft with a couple odd bends and drilling mounting holes, plus some spacers. But I might try and find his shop in the next couple days. I know I've read somewhere here on OSO that somebody else has already gone through making one of these. I have no idea what to search on though... http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ght=cabin+door |
Michael- that is what I thought. And all I wanted was the leading 1/2 of the top of the hatch- not all 3 pieces. One issue I have been advised about is that the material is some wierd custom blend color- which I am not buying. Again, the fellow in KC told me there were several shades of bronze that were available and it was simply a question of matching them up.

And RedDog- I don't need ANY reason to trade up that I haven't already pitched . . .the right boat at the right time (which, in my experience are not available as a pair) and I am THERE . . . . .
