Default 382 Merc 600 or 700 owners

Just curious what your top speeds are. I was just looking at The Fomula Action and noticed the 382 was in Powerboat Mag in Oct. (somehow I missed this) with the 600's and only had a top speed of 79mph. I have also read reviews with both the 525's and 575's that both topped at 79mph as well. Supposidly the 700's push it to 94.4mph. So far we have seen 82.8mph with 600's. Just curious why the tests are so low for the 600's. how could 200hp ad 15mph? Let me know what some of your real world speeds are.... The previous owner of our boat said with one person and a light load he had 85+ on the boat.

Also, Im sure the review of the 382 with 700's was video taped? Does anyone know where we can get a copy of this? Hopfully Formula will put it on their DVD for 2008

Last 600/Stellings we ran ,GPS 87.0,freshwater,10-24-06. 525's and 575's are about equal at about 79,+/- 1 mph. Prop selection is a factor,of course

Sweet, I remember reading about that in another post. We also have Stellings so anything over 85 would be awesome.

Magicfloat, I sent you an email about some stuff we need

We just built 630HP per side....700Ft/lbs torque on the dyno fully equiped as the motors sit in the boat. Motors are in and will be run in the next 2 weeks. No boxes but I'll let you know what we end up getting out of her.

BTW: 8 PSI Prochargers on 500EFI's reportedly made 800HP and we saw 95 on GPS the last run in the fall.
