I have been looking hard at the 370SS and was gung ho until I talked to an owner tonight. Guy came out of a 33 Powerplay to a brand new 370 and sold it a year later. Boat was great for barhopping/ hanging out but was a beating going to the Bahamas. His biggest complaint was it rode hard, came down hard in 2-3ft chop and burned a lot of fuel. He said he would rather take the 33 PP than the 370 on a 60 mile ocean crossing. I was thinking this boat would be a best of both worlds (60 MPH, shade and A/C) in a cruiser but am now thinking that it may not be the boat for me.

Anyone taken a 370 out in choppy conditions?

Ive riden in one on the lake. Had the 5.7 (I think ??) volvos with Duoprop drives. He is also trying to sell it, was a little to slow for him. Plus, it was a lot of money from the start. anyway its a real nice boat and I dont known where he gets the thing about it riding hard, granted, there is no ocean sized rollers on the lake but there can be a 2-3 foot chop.

Pure physics. It's going to ride harder than a pure offshore boat simply due to a wider beam. I have not had the opportunity to ride on one yet.

Never had an unhappy 370SS owner. Have a couple owners that get a new one every year,one just took delivery of #4..Best thing,actually the only thing to do,is to sea trial one in the conditions you run it in. That will tell you if it's right for you.

You really have to take it for a ride in conditions like those that concern you and decide for yourself. This will also help you avoid not enough power remorse syndrome - oh sorry - there is no such thing as enough power .

Magicfloat do many of your sold boats end up in the Gulf of Mexico or do they just get used on inland lakes?

Have done several 370SS and as Magic said no one has been unhappy, everyone seems to be on point in here. The boat does have a wider beam and will affect the ride but a condo that runs 60+ with 525's cant be beat. Bottom line is run one in rough conditions and see for yourself.

Jupiter,our 370's go everywhere,not just lakes.Several on Gulf coast,CA,NY, and NJ last week. Vareity of water conditions. I use one as a personal demo here on our local lake. Lots of 370's sold on LOTO by Selpel,that lake can get rough. Maybe Selpel will chime in.
