Default Shade for a 271?

I don't have a bimini with my boat, any good alternatives for providing shade? What would a bimini cost?

An alternative would be something called an "anchor shade."

We use an anchor shade, I believe West Marine has them on sale now.

And this contraption is sturdier than that!

Back to the topic at hand, the anchor shade is OK but it's a PITA. We used it on the 242LS a number of times but the pole gets in the way and you have to deal with the straps too.

The 280SS has a bimini top and it's great, we use it every time we go out.

A bimini for a 271 couldn't cost too much. I know West Marine/Boat US has them in their catalogs...or perhaps you could order one from Formula. Just to be sure to get one that is tall enough...nothing more annoying than bumping your head all of the time.

Well, I ordered an "anchor shade" from Lostbwana. I figured for $99.00 I'd give it a try. If it becomes a hassle, I'll get an estimate from a local canvas shop to make a bimini. Formula is expensive.

Thanks for the input.
