Ill try to answer everyone’s questions:
We got the job through a firend who reccomended us.
No we didn't have any input on the design.
The avalanche with the stock gearing is sluggish on the get go, but we have installed 456 ring and pinion gearing on it so that gave us a lil more torque.
We had to put air bags on the back and the truck is lifted four inches.
It also has a BBK on it to help it stop along with 4 hydraulic disk brakes on the custom trailer.
The Truck and boat were featured on the cover of truckin magazine and Hot boats.
I have designed our schedule so we get to go to a lot of cool events. i will post all the events when everything is final.
Hope that answers most of your questions.

First off congratulations now don't get killed towing that boat with that avalanche even if it is a 3/4 ton it has low profile ties on it which change everything. Also could you tell Formula to make hydraulic steering an K-Planes standard its would be such a great boat if they did that

Actually I saw this combo in a magazine a few months back and decided I might be best off selling my Grand Cherokee and GMC 2500 4x4 to buy an Avalanche...an SUV with a short truck bed. Then I only have 1 vehicle to maintain, insure, etc.
Here's the rub: THE AVALANCHE IS ONLY RATED TO TOW 8200 LBS!! Chevy's website says 8,200 net towing, 14,000 gross combined...the 292 weighs over 7000 Lbs., figure at least another ton for the trailer, then add gear, beer, fuel, a few passengers and you're exceeding the rated tow capacity by at least 20%.
Not sure what the real-world effect would be, but I'd always rather be on the safe side of that equation, especially if anything bad ever happened. I would imagine some lawyer would say I have legal liability for any accident that occurs in which my towing beyond rated capacity might have been a factor.
I do see that the trailer on this rig looks to be painted aluminum, so it's possible that this particular combo is just at the rated capacity. Just a little miffed (if you couldn't tell) that the Avalanche isn't a practical solution for me after seeing the magazine article and looking into it.

I believe '06 was the last year for the 2500 Avalanche that was rated to tow 12K lbs. It had the 8.1L 496 motor, and it was strong.
I loved mine. There are a lot of pics and posts about my old truck here on OSO. Do a search on 2500 Avalanche.
